What else can I do about my crazy neighbor?

We have crazy neighbors who live across the cul de sac from us. We have been neighbors for 4 years now. They have been crazy since we have moved in, but it is getting much worse. This weekend hubby & I were in lawn chairs watching 2 of our children play when the neighbor pulled out a gun!!! We got the kids inside & called 911. The police came and it turns out his gun was a BB gun that looks like a hunting rifle and he said he was wanting to shoot dogs who poop in his yard (there were not any dogs around when this happened). The police said he had been drinking and used poor judgement. Now I am scared to live across from these crazy people. What can I do about my crazy neighbors? I want us to be able to go outside and enjoy our yard, but I don't want have to deal with them anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do at this point? Obviously if they pull weapons I can call police, but what do I do about their usual hysterics and screaming profanity at children?
